アレッツォの家具２点の修復は順調だ。
全体に４層ぐらいのペンキの塗られた食器棚からは
ペンキがすべてはがされ、状態のいいモミとクルミが現れた。
内部にも新聞紙やラッピングペーパーが重ねて貼ってあった。
『聖職者新聞』Gazzetta del Clero という、
神父さんをターゲットにした新聞も下の方から出て来た。
（祭服のプライスリスト付きの広告なども載っていて
かなりおもしろそうな新聞だ。
聖職界ゴシップなども掲載されていたのだろうか。）
１９１５年の新聞だったので、この家具はそれよりも前に
作られたものであることは確かで、
木材も機械ではなく、手で切られた部分が多いので
１８７０年が妥当な年代ではないかということだ。
箪笥は１８３０年代。様式的にはインペリアル様式の影響を保つ
ルイ・フィリップ様式。
引き出しを引き出す時の誘導部分に当たる木にはそれぞれ、
格段を仕切る薄い板がはめられるようになっているので
この二重の役割は木に負担がかかってしまったようだ。
誘導部分をどう補強するかが今後の課題だ。
作業は２人で行っているので毎日変転が見られる。
化粧板の修理も始まっている。
HI guys this is me again, back at Momﾕs working place
after 4 weeks at three different types of summer camps here in Rome.
The first one was where I went last year,
Centro Sportivo Italiano, situated along the Tiber.
Itﾕs a boy-scout type of camp with lots of group activites and games.
Then I was at the Childrenﾕs Museum where they have a lot of
creative activites.
The last week was at Villa Flaminia, where they have these
really professional sport facilities.
I guess my favorite remains the CSI on the Tiber.
Mom is now working on an Imperial+Luigi Filippo style commode
dated around 1830 together with one of her new buddies.
She says itﾕs nice working with other people because you see
changes in the piece every day.
I like talking to the people in the workshop.
They help me when my paper planes get stuck in high places.
