２００８年 ７月 フェロニア文学賞 Premio Feronia
as a challenge against other literary prizes.
It is meant to stimulate and to regenerate cultural activities
that tend to remain stagnant in Italy.
The award-giving ceremony is held each year in the courtyard of the Castle at Fiano Romano, an old town going back to the Etruscans.
We were invited to the ceremony last Saturday
by our son's classmate's parents,
the Dad actually is Chairman of this unique prize!!
The prize for Literature was won by Antonio Rezza,
performer and writer. (He's that monologue guy sticking his head out
of holes of a bed sheet!)
It was wonderful to hear him read some passages of his new book
"Credo in un solo oblio" together with the actress Paola Pitagora
who conducted the ceremony.
Alessandra Berardi improvised poetry (she is so fun!)
and we were all impressed by the words of Giuliana Sgrena,
the journalist who was taken hostage in Iraq....
A wonderful cultural panorama continued to unfold before our very eyes
and there were lots of suggestions for summer reading!
The critics read their critiques and there is no doubt that
they were useful in understanding the works but
maybe it would have been better if they had just
talked freely instead of reading out loud something written beforehand...
During the dinner that followed the children enjoyed running around
the moonlit terrace late into the night....
The evening was delightfully cool and our mind and bodies were quite full!
フェロニア文学賞は１７年前に、従来の文学賞に対する挑戦として
立ち上げられた賞。
イタリア文化に活気を与えるに違いない新しい傾向を呈した
ひと味違った作品に与えられる賞だ。
授賞式はローマ郊外の、エトルリア起源の古い街、
フィアーノ・ロマーノのお城の中庭で行われる。
先週の土曜日、息子の同級生のご両親に招かれて
我々も授賞式に参加。
（お父さんはこの賞の審査委員長だ！）
文学の部門ではパフォーマー兼作家のアントニオ・レッツアの新作が受賞。
アイデンティディー錯綜がテーマのシュールな作品という印章を受けた。
女優さんでもある司会者とともに本人が何ページか作品を読んでくれた。
詩の部門ではとってもコミカルなアレッサンドラ・ベラルディが受賞。
彼女も即興によるパフォーマンスを披露。
しかし一番心に残るのはイラクで捕虜となっていた女性ジャーナルストの
ズグレーナであろう。
彼女は助かったが諜報部のカリパーリが彼女をかばって命を落とした。
賞は彼女のライフワーク、イスラムの女性たちの現状の研究に対して与えられた。
セレモニーの後の夕食時、子どもたちは
月に照らされたお城のテラスを思いっきりかけめぐった。
話は変わって、本日イタリア語のブログを修復の仲間たちと創設。
