2008年 １１月３０日 ローマで雹！！！ Hail in Rome

土曜の夜中の雹にはびっくりです。
ナイアガラの滝のようなものすごい音でした。
朝、お庭に落ちた分はたいだい溶けていたのですが
不思議なことにうちのすぐ近くの道を曲がったところに
なぜか集中的に降ったようで、２５センチ近くつもっていました。
清掃局の人たちが雪かきにきてくれました。
もう３日経っていますが、また雹の山が歩道に残っています。

Hey guys! It must have been around five in the morning,
all of the sudden a strong wind started blowing and then...
a sound of tiny pebbles falling which went on with a crescendo!
It sounded like Niagra Falls!
When we looked out of the window after the ringing of the
church bells, our garden was still quite white....
Mom and I went downstairs to see what it was like...
and surprise! We turned the corner of our block and found that
the street was entirely covered with like 25 cm of hail, all intact!!
None of the other streets were like that,
so we thought that it hailed real hard only on that street!
(could be true!)
